In social studies 9MA did a 10 minute task. Todays victim Whina Cooper.
Whina Cooper (or Dame Whina Cooper) was born December 9 1865 and passed on March 26 1994. In her life time she became a leader to many people, the Northern Hokianga tribe being one of them. She helped claim back Maori land and Marched and Maori Land March in 1975. New Zealand's most notable Hikoi was a protested movement lead by Te Ropu Matakite, their leader being Whina Cooper. The March started in Northland, September 14, travelling the length of the North Island arriving in Wellington, October 13, 1973.
