Social Studies : Learning Time Line

Today we had to do a reflection of the work done this term.

My Learning Story

Hurumanu: 2 Humanities

Module: Power to the People

Name: Apollo (Safiyya) Searles

Teacher: Ds

Term: 2

Reflection:

Give at least three examples in each of the boxes below.

What We Did:

  • Informational Poster (Solo)
On a famous (inspirational) leader. Did mine on Joseph Stalin

  • Types of Government (Group)
    Learnt about the 7 types
Had to locate a country with one of these
Needed a leader who ran this type of Government

  • Political Parties (Group)
Created a speech about our Political Party then presented it in front of the class
Designed a logo that fit with our Party (Anti Bullying Party)
Made a poster with the Logo and Slogan.
    Came up with a slogan
    Manifesto

What I Learned:

  • Joseph Stalin was friends with Hitler

  • The 7 types of Government

  • Making a party isn’t easy

My Favourite Parts:

  • Being able to work with friends

  • Learning about someone I knew nothing about

  • Making a cool poster for my Party

My Next Steps:

  • Manage my time more

  • Focus on the must do steps (to prevent a few being left out)

  • Work at home as well as at school to help more work being made

CARR Values:

Make a statement below describing how you showed each of our CARR values during this Hurumanu.

Commitment

Focused on work and continued working during breaks to make sure it was finished before the due date, continuing to work when stuck, pushing through.

Achievement

Did good work, mainly with the Inspirational leader work although the types of Government work could have been finished to higher/better standards.

Resilience

When stuck I pushed through the work and it got better after it was hard.

Respect

Respecting my peers and teachers, making sure to use appropriate words and language.

Feedback for my Teachers:

Possibly assign the work earlier in time to allow more work to be done.
